Y-shape-PEG-Acetaldehyde

Y-shape-PEG-Acetaldehyde is an N-terminal reactive 2-arm PEG of the Y-type. Because of its large spatial structure, Y-type PEG is more selective than linear PEG. Polyethylene glycol arms have hydrophilic and other excellent physical and chemical properties. For example, PEG chains can inhibit nonspecific binding of charged molecules to modified surfaces. The aldehyde group (ALD) exhibits several interesting reactions (with amine, hydrazine, etc.). Y-shape PEG Acetaldehyde is more selective but less reactive compared with Y-shaped Propionaldehyde. In the presence of a reducing agent, it reacts with an N-terminal amine (e.g., the N-terminal of GSF, rhGCSF) at pH 5-8.
