mPEG-Rhodamine is a linear monofunctional PEG reagent with a tetramethylrhodamine (Tamra or TMR) dye in the molecular chain. Rhodamine is a biologically common red fluorescent dye tracer used to stain cells, tissues, biomarkers, or nanoparticles. It has peak fluorescence emission at 572-575nm. By reacting with drugs, it changes the dispersity and solubility of drug molecules in aqueous solutions. Also, it can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney, metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system.
