Synonyms: Methoxy polyethylene glycol-Succinimidyl butanoate; mPEG-SBA; Methoxy polyethylene glycol-SBA

Methoxy polyethylene glycol-Succinimidyl butanoate (mPEG-SBA) is a modifier with one end of the methoxy group and the other end of the succinimidyl butanoate derivative. It is usually white or yellowish liquid, semi-solid or solid, depending on the molecular weight. It is suitable for storage in a dry environment below -20℃ and needs inert gas (argon or nitrogen) protection for long-term storage. It can react with lysine or amino groups in other molecules at room temperature and pH = 7 ~ 8, for example, it can peg the amino groups in the active components of recombinant human erythropoietin. It can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other substances by amino or other acid reactive chemical groups. Similarly, it is also widely used in PEG modification of biological nanomaterials.
