C18-PEG-N3

Synonyms: Polyethylene glycol octadecyl ether azide

C18-PEG-N3 is an amphiphilic diblock copolymer. It is usually a solid powder or particle, which needs to be protected by inert gas, frozen and dissolved in some organic reagents such as dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide. C18 hydrocarbons are linked to short polyethylene glycol (PEG) by ether bond. The end of PEG has azide group, which can be used for click reaction and chemical reaction with alkyne or acetylene in the presence of copper catalyst.
