Background

Y-shape-PEG-Propionaldehyde is a high-quality, multi-armed PEG derivative with two linear methoxy polyethylene glycol terminations and one linear polyethylene glycol modified linear polyethylene glycol. Y-shaped Propionaldehyde PEG reacts with N-terminal amines in the presence of a reducing reagent at pH 5-8. Y-shape PEG Acetaldehyde is more selective but less reactive compared with Y-shaped Propionaldehyde. Because of its large spatial structure, Y-type PEG is more selective than linear PEG. Polyethylene glycol arms have hydrophilicity and other excellent physical and chemical properties. For example, PEG chains can inhibit nonspecific binding of charged molecules to modified surfaces. Y-shaped PEG derivatives are chemically purified during synthesis and contain almost no activated bifunctional PEG by-products.
