Synonyms: Methoxypoly(ethylene glycol) Succinimidyl propionate; Methoxy PEG SPA; mPEG SPA

The terminal of the chain of mPEG-Succinimidyl propionate is succinimide propionate. It is an amine-reactive PEG derivative that has a stable non-degradable linker between the PEG polymer chain and the NHS ester. mPEG-Succinimidyl propionate reacts with the amine group of lysine, such as those on HGH antagonist, growth hormone B2036, granulocyte colony stimulating factor MAXY-G34 (CSF MAXY-G34), or uricase. The hydrolysis half-life of mPEG-Succinimidyl propionate is longer than that of mPEG-SCM. Polyethylene glycolation increases solubility and stability and reduces the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials. It also inhibits nonspecific binding of charged molecules to the modified surface.
