C18-PEG-NHS

Synonyms:  Polyethylene glycol octadecyl succinimidyl ester

The C18 hydrocarbon of C18-PEG-NHS is connected to PEG through an ether bond, and the PEG end has an activated carboxylic acid NHS ester. C18-PEG-NHS is an amphiphilic surfactant PEG, which can be used for micelle formation and drug delivery. When used in drug synthesis, it can enhance drug solubility and improve the bioavailability of drug preparations. In addition, NHS groups easily react with primary amines, and NHS esters can be used to label proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other primary amines containing amine molecules. C18-PEG-NHS is often used to modify peptide compounds, such as epidermal factor and border calcitonin, which can significantly increase their half-life and biological activity.
