Biotin-PEG-OH is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent with biotins and hydroxyl groups at the end of the molecular chain. It is a useful cross-linked or bio-conjugated reagent with a PEG spacer group. Streptavidin and avidin bind to linear PEG with high affinity and specificity through stable amide junctions. It can be used on the surface of biotinylated biomolecules or other materials. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assays and is widely used for molecular target detection. It can be used in cell culture, drug research, drug delivery and release, nanotechnology and new materials. The end groups of biotin can be used to tag specific molecules, structures, or tissues.
