Cholesterol-PEG-Azide is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol. It has amphipathic properties. Cholesterol can form liposomes to increase the cycle time of encapsulated drugs. The azide can connect with another drug or chemical molecule via click chemistry reaction to achieve one PEG linking two drug molecules. They can also be used for non-viral transfection reagents.
