HS-PEG-OH

HS-PEG-OH has a thiol and a hydroxyl group at each end of the molecular chain and is a linear heterofunctional PEGylation reagent. It is a useful cross-linking or bioconjugation reagent with PEG spacers. The thiol selectively reacts with maleimide, OPSS, vinyl sulfone and transition metal surfaces including gold and silver. HS-PEG-OH can modify proteins, peptides and other materials via sulfhydryl or hydroxyl groups. PEGylation increases solubility and stability and reduces the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can also inhibit the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surface.
