Four-Arm polyethylene glycol-Nitrophenyl Carbonate (4-Arm PEG-NPC) is a multi armed peg derivative with nitrophenyl carbonat as the terminal. It is usually a solid powder or particle, because the sulfhydryl group is sensitive to water and air, so it is often filled with inert gas, tighten the cap, and timely put into the refrigerator frozen layer for preservation. Because nitrophenyl functional PEG (NPC PEG) is an amino (-NH2) reactive PEG derivative, it can be used to modify proteins, peptides, or any other surface with available amino groups at the lysine residues or N-terminus. At the same time, NPC PEG reacts easily with amine groups at pH 6.5 to 9.5.
