Background
Synonyms: Polyethylene glycol octadecyl ether amine
As an amphiphilic surfactant, C18-PEG-NH2 is very useful in micelle applications. It can be used to modify proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, particles, biomedical devices and other active groups with carboxyl (-COOH) or other reactive groups that can react with primary amines materials and small molecules. What's more, amino groups can easily form stable amide bonds with carboxyl groups, and form amide bonds with active esters (-NHS) at pH 7-8.5. Polyethylene glycol helps increase solubility and stability, and reduce the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. C18-PEG-NH2 is commonly used in drug delivery, new nanomaterial research, cell culture, cross-linking, labeling, imaging, hydrogels and many other fields.
