Synonyms: Glutaramide Acid-PEG-Glutaramide Acid; GAA-polyethylene glycol-GAA; Glutaramide Acid-polyethylene glycol-Glutaramide Acid

GAA-PEG-GAA is a linear molecule containing carboxyl groups at both ends of the molecule, which is a PEG derivative. Between the PEG and the carboxyl group, an amide bond exists. GAA-PEG-GAA can react with amino groups by peptide coupling agents, making it widely used in the surface modification of proteins, lipids and other small molecules. By reacting with drugs, it changes the dispersity and solubility of drug molecules in aqueous solutions. Also, it can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney, metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system.
