mPEG-Epoxide is a functionctional PEG, is a linear monofunctional polyethylene glycol reagent with ethylene oxide group (glycidyl ether), mainly used for nucleophilic addition. It’s an amino (-NH2) and hydroxyl group reactive PEG derivative that can be used to modify protein, peptide or any other surfaces with available amino or hydroxyl groups. Epoxyl PEGs react readily with amine groups at a pH of from 8.0 to 9.5. It is soluble in most organic solvents and has good solubility in water. MPEG-Epoxide is easy to connect with protein and peptide drugs, which increases the half-life of the drug in vivo and reduces the immunogenicity; after MPEG-Epoxide is connected to the target drug or material, its properties such as water solubility, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity are changed; MPEG-Epoxide and after the nanomaterials are connected, the reagents of the nanomaterials are more widely used; the different functional groups at the two ends of MPEG-Epoxide make it a bridge between two substances or materials, which is easy to make innovations in drugs or materials, such as the combination of Chinese and Western medicines and drug relief Release, etc., greatly delaying the administration time and reduce the administration concentration.
