8-Arm PEG-OPSS
Synonyms: Eight-Arm polyethylene glycol-OPSS; Eight-Arm PEG-OPSS; Eight-Arm polyethylene glycol-Orthopyridyl Disulfide
The OPSS group at the end of each of the eight arms is attached to a glycerol core, which is a multi-arm PEG derivative. OPSS, Orthopyridyl Disulfide, is also called PDP (3-(2-Pyridyldithio) propionic acid). It has branching or comb-like structures and is commonly used in drug delivery systems. The opyridine disulfide or pyridine disulfide functional groups selectively react with free mercaptan, SH, sulfhydryl or sulfhydryl groups to form REDOX reversible disulfide bonds. 8-Arm PEG-OPSS has branching or comb-like structures and is commonly used in drug delivery systems. It can also modify the surface of biomaterials or form new biomedical materials.
