mPEG-Nitrophenyl Carbonate (mPEG-NPC) is a linear monofunctional methyl ether PEG with a reactive nitrophenyl carbonate or NPC group. Depending on its molecular weight, the form is usually found in viscous liquid or solid powder. It is usually stored at -20℃. Because nitrophenyl functional PEG (NPC PEG) is an amino (-NH2) reactive PEG derivative, it can be used to modify proteins, peptides, or any other surface with available amino groups at the lysine residues or N-terminus. At the same time, NPC PEG reacts easily with amine groups at pH 6.5 to 9.5. It can modify a variety of drugs, such as protein drugs, peptide compounds, organic small molecule drugs and so on. Similarly, it is also widely used in PEG modification of biological nanomaterials.
