PEG-PCL Polycaprolactone

Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a kind of biodegradable polyeste. And PEG-PCL is a block copolymer of hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) and hydrophobic poly(caprolactone). It has attracted much attention due to its potential to be used in wound treatment and controlled drug release application. This type of amphiphilic polymer gives an advantage in increasing the encapsulation of hydrophobic drug via hydrophobic-hydrophobic interaction or conjugation of drug with PCL [1]. The hydrophilic part, PEG, will increase the solubility of the drug cargo for human use [2].
