Synonyms: Cholesterol-polyethylene glycol-Acid
Cholesterol and carboxyl groups are at both ends of the cholesterol-PEG-COOH molecular chain, which is a lipophilic lipid PEG conjugate with good water solubility. It allows cholesterol and acids to be linked to PEG by a very stable chemical bond/bond by an ether bond or an amide bond. Cholesterol-PEG-COOH, as an amphiphilic lipid derivative, can be used to prepare liposomes and other micelles as a drug delivery system to shorten the cycle time of encapsulated drugs. They can also be used in non-viral transfection reagents. Carboxylated functionalized nanoparticles can be used for surface modification.
