Polymethacrylate Copolymer
The advantages of PMA based lipid nanodiscs: PMA is more stable than SMA at lower pH and in the presence of divalent metal ions, PMA has a mild effect on lipid acyl chains, spontaneously forms lipid nanodiscs through fragmentation of the lipid bilayer, larger PMA polymer nanodiscs can be aligned in a magnetic field allowing for solid-state NMR studies on membrane proteins or peptides.
