DBCO-PEG-DBCO has two identical activated terminal groups. Homobifunctionalized PEG derivatives have wide applications in peptides, proteins, lipids, other small molecules and surface modifications. DBCO-PEG-DBCO is highly hydrophilic. The PEG is a highly hydrophilic molecule containing a large amount of ethoxy groups, which causes high hydrodynamic volume in aqueous solution.
