Biotinyl-PEG3-NHCO-Ph(4-N3) is a functionalized biotin derivative featuring a biotin group linked to an azide via a three-unit PEG spacer and an amide bond to a phenyl group with an azide at the 4-position. This compound is used as a red-light photocatalysis proximity labeling reagent (μMap-Red). It is also suitable for click chemistry reactions, particularly for labeling terminal alkynes through copper-catalyzed or copper-free click reactions with cyclooctynes. This reagent enables non-enzymatic, covalent tagging of proteins, making it suitable for downstream detection in SDS-PAGE and Western blot analyses.
