6-(3-hydroxypropylamino)hexyl 2-hexyldecanoate is an amino ionizable lipid which can be used to make ALC-0315. The ethanolamine lipid head enhances encapsulation of mRNA. The lipid has identical ester bonds located adjacent to C6 relative to the amine nitrogen. The introduction of ester linkages can improve the clearance of the lipid in the liver.
