4-Arm PEG-Acid is a multi-armed PEG derivative with carboxyl groups attached to a hexaglycerol core at the end of each of its four molecular arms. The total molecular weight of 4-Arm PEG-Acid is the sum of the molecular weights of all the arms. Multi-armed PEG derivatives such as 4-Arm PEG-Acid are commonly used in drug delivery systems. The increased molecular weight of the modified drug is not easily eliminated by metabolism in the body. In addition, the dispersibility and solubility of the modified drug in the body will be improved. Multi-armed PEG derivatives can also modify the surface of biological materials or form new biomedical materials.
