20-(Bromoacetamido-PEG3-ethylcarbamoyl)nonadecanoic-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker with a Bromide group and an alkane tail that has a terminal t-butyl ester group. The bromide (Br) can be used as a leaving group for nucleophilic substitution reactions. The t-butyl protected carboxyl group can be deprotected under acidic conditions. The polymer can form micelles spontaneously in water. It may also be used to prepare more complex lipids for nanoparticles for drug delivery.
