Biotin-PEG-MAL

Biotin-PEG-MAL is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent with biotins and maleimides at both ends of the molecular chain. Streptavidin and avidin bind to linear PEG with high affinity and specificity through stable amide junctions. It can be used on the surface of biotinylated biomolecules or other materials. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assays and is widely used for molecular target detection. At neutral pH, maleimide can react quickly with sulfhydryl/sulfhydryl groups, thus allowing the biotin label to be rapidly conjugated to the target molecule or material surface. The PEG connector between biotin and maleimide provides better water solubility, reduced spatial hydrophilicity, and enhanced stability.
