Product Information

Description (Z)-non-2-enyl 6-bromohexanoate, also known as D-Desthiobiotin, is an analogue of Biotin and a protein cross-linking agent. (Z)-non-2-enyl 6-bromohexanoate binds less tightly to biotin-binding proteins such as Avidin and is easily displaced by Biotin. It is used in the preparation of agarose matrices for affinity-based isolation of streptavidin-fluorophore conjugates.
