Synonyms: Methoxy polyethylene glycol-FITC; Methoxy-PEG-FITC
mPEG-FITC is a linear single functional PEG reagent with fluorescein dye at both ends of the molecular chain. Fluorescein, often referred to as FITC, is a biologically common fluorescent tracer used to stain cells, tissues, biomarkers, or nanoparticles. It has peak absorption or excitation at 494 nm and maximum emission at 521 nm. Fluorescent PEG is commonly used for PEGylation to label or label biomolecules and nanoparticles with dyes and tracers. By reacting with drugs, it changes the dispersity and solubility of drug molecules in aqueous solutions. Also, it can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney, metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system.
